This is the Yizkor Book project of the Dorot Jewish Division of New York Public Library which includes background information and offers online access to 650 of the 700 Yizkor books that NYPL has in its collection: "Yizkor books are memorial volumes published by survivors of the Holocaust in Hebrew or Yiddish about Jewish communities in Eastern Europe in which the victims are listed and commemorated and the town's Jewish history is told. They are based on a centuries-old traditional Jewish practice of publishing memorial books." To view the online collection users need to install the DjVu plugin.
